Simple steps to add a watermark in Lightroom Classic
Adding a watermark in Lightroom Classic is simple; as I mentioned, there are two ways to add a watermark;
- Click on the Lightroom classic menu bar. A dropdown will appear. Select “Edit Watermarks” from the menu bar.
(Tip) You can do it in any of the Lightroom modules.
- Apply a watermark in the “Export dialogue box.” Find the watermark section. Check the bar next to the watermark and enable it.
You can also create three different types of watermarks in Lightroom.
How to add a simple watermark in Lightroom?
Simple watermark is the default watermark setting in Lightroom. So it is easy to do it.
It is the name you entered when you set up/make an account in Adobe; it will appear as a default simple watermark preceded by the copyright symbol.
- Click on the Lightroom classic menu bar. A dropdown will appear. Select “Edit Watermarks” from the menu bar.
- Click on Save.
- Name your watermark in the box.
- Click on Create.
OR, You can apply a watermark during export.
- Check the watermark bar, and make sure to Enable it.
- Select “Simple Copyright Watermark” from the dropdown menu.
- Click on Export.

- In Windows, hold down Alt and type 0169.
- In Mac, hold down the Option and press “g.
How to add text watermark in Lightroom?
If you want to add your personalized text or whatever you want to say via a watermark, you can use a text-based watermark. Here I will tell you.
- Click on the Lightroom Classic menu bar. A dropdown menu will appear; select “Edit Watermarks” from the menu bar.
- In the menu bar, the default simple watermark will be highlighted.
- In the text box below the image, type whatever you want.
- Under Text Options, there are options to set font, style, alignment, colour and shadow.
- Click on Save.
- Name your watermark in the box that appears.
- Click on Create.
How to add a graphic watermark in Lightroom?
The first step to adding a graphic watermark in Lightroom is to create your graphic for the watermark. This can be a Logo, a Logo with text, or anything you want.
You can create those graphics in Canva, Photoshop, or Photoshop Element. Many free online tools exist for creating graphics.
Remember to design your graphics with a transparent background and save your file in PNG format. Once you have created your graphic for the watermark, follow the steps below.
- Click on the Lightroom Classic menu bar. A dropdown will appear. Select “Edit Watermarks” from the menu bar.
- Check watermark style: Graphics.
- If you don’t already have watermark graphics in Lightroom, upload them from your window file.
- Click to Choose.
- Click to Save.
- Name your watermark.
- Click on Create.
Once you select the watermark type, you can change its opacity, size, and position in the editor.
How to create a watermark in Lightroom Mobile?
The basic method of adding a watermark in Lightroom Mobile is exactly the same as I explained for Lightroom Classic. Let’s see it in a short way.
Step1): First, export your image to Lightroom Mobile.
Click on the “Export” at the top right side of the screen.
Step 2): A new menu bar will open in front of you. From there, you have to choose the “ Export as” option.
Step 3): turn on the “ Include Watermark” option.
Step 4): In the watermark setting, you can choose the watermark text or import a graphic watermark from your window file.
Step 5): After selecting the watermark, you can set its opacity, size, position, and alignment.
Step 6): Preview their selected watermark to make sure it is.
